Another day, another conference, another award
Today the research students in the School of Computing held their annual conference. Once again I was bursting with pride at the achievements of my doctoral students.
We are the smallest research group of five within my School, yet the majority of the members of the committee who put together today's event (3/5) were from my group. Of the nine prizes awarded at the end of the day, four went to my students: Frances; Iris; John; and LyndseyJ.
My blip is of Frances, who won the top prize for best third year presentation. She is seen here celebrating her win with our School's Director of Research.
I gave a presentation earlier in the day. Unfortunately there weren't any prizes for members of staff who accepted the challenge to bravely critique their earlier work ;-)
