National Limerick Day

Blipfoto's a place where they say
You can post just one picture a day,
And write stories and rhymes
Sharing your life and times -
And then see other Blippers at play.


Having not written a word of poetry all through National Poetry Writing Month in April, I've put fingers to keyboard and made up this little verse to join the fun on National Limerick Day.  This annual event marks the birthday of Edward Lear, who was born on this date in 1812 and who made the limerick popular.

This was supposed to be a quick blip, and in time-honoured Blipfoto tradition I've now spent half the morning on it - not only writing the limerick but faffing about far too long with the photo as well, in an attempt to make it vaguely acceptable for youoregon1's Abstract Thursday.  Sadly I have failed to faff enough to create a proper poster from my image, which is supposed to be this week's theme...
