A Peregrines Life #3

 # Catching the prey, essential for feeding those young chicks.

The falcon had been making quite a din making it obvious that she thought the tiercel should be bringing back some food. The problem being he is not as good at hunting as she is and he can be seen here attempting to catch, but missing a magpie.

The magpies are nesting in a nearby fir tree and he used a new rather lazy tactic of landing on top of the tree awaiting for the magpie to come and harass him away and then attacking it when it was close and out of the tree. He tried it 3 times but each time hadn't got the speed needed from diving to hit the magpie hard enough.

Eventually the falcon called once more and off she went in search of food, he followed obediently they came back 10 minutes later with nothing but to check the nest. He landed on a ledge to keep guard and she went off again. Unfortunately I had to go as well so I didn't see if any prey eventually arrived.

In extra you can see him on the tree, tempting out the magpie and the graceful effortless flight
