Treecreeper

The minibus for today's birdwatching class failed to arrive this morning; so the planned trip into the Pentlands (looking for ring ouzel, dotterel and cuckoo) had to be postponed.
A trip to Almondell and Calderwood Park at East Calder gave nice views of this treecreeper collecting food to take back to its nest as well as a pair of greater spotted woodpeckers (female in today's extra). We also enjoyed views of a female grey wagtail feeding her young and my first swifts of the year. Glimpses of whitethroat too, but no photos ...
