Torhouse

Was out and about again today, this time in the south-west. After yesterday's loch-side lunch break, today I stopped beside a stone circle.

A Neolithic stone circle apparently aligned with the winter solstice, it has 19 granite boulders up to 5 feet high. There are 3 central stones which local folklore says contains the tomb of Galdus, a mythical Scottish king.

Torhouse Standing Stones, near Wigtown, Dumfries & Galloway.
