Over too soon

I was hoping for a blue sky today to photograph the cherry in my garden, and so it was, to begin with at least.

I thought that this was the ordinary native wild cherry, or gean, but it turned out to be a double flower and I suspect is the double form of our native -  Prunus avium 'Plena'.

This was one of the few branches with fresh white flowers - most had started to turn brown - too much heat, no doubt.

For the ship-lovers among you, my extra today is of the 'Isle of Lewis', inbound from Barra this morning.
