William building a radio and 5 tiny caterpillars

For his birthday in March, William was given a butterfly kit. We waited for the warmer weather before sending off for his caterpillars. They arrived yesterday and must have been eating lots because they have already grown a couple of mm! His 5 tiny caterpillars are in the extra photo.
Today's blip is of William building an AM radio (following a diagram) using a snap circuits kit. It worked much better than I had expected. He is currently experimenting with different ways to make lights work - without instructions - as I write this. His next plan is to try making the electricity flow through water... Good job it's just batteries!
