Battle Ground

Alstroemeria, Peruvian Lillies, once dominated this plot.

While they are undoubtedly colourful there is a serious downside

They are prolific, invasive and choke out all other plant life. After three years of trying to control and failing. Last week I concluded enough was enough and declared war, them or me!

After much painstaking work I removed all surface growth and then after a week removed regrowth but I know remaining tubers lurk unseen ready to sprout forth when I am not there.
