Turtle Rescue

This morning a female loggerhead sea turtle was found in distress in the salt marsh. Due to a combined effort of us and several others involved, we managed to get her extracted from the marsh mud and on her way to a rehab hospital in Charleston South Carolina.
A quick assessment was that she may have been the victim of a shark bite on her filpper although a boat encounter can not be discounted.
In any case she seemed to be otherwise healthy and active and can hopefully be released into the wild of the ocean.
Let's hope she makes a full recovery.
