Westport Beach (Islay and Jura on the horizon)

11.0C sunny and bright with little cloud. Light WNW breeze. no more than 11 mph.

Yesterday evening Apothecary7 and I went for a walk after dinner. Just out to the end of the little park beyond the ferry terminal and back through town. The Arctic Rock was just turning away from the quay to make its way out of the loch as we came back towarsd town. Lots of turbine sections on board.

Apothecary7's day off (as will be Monday).

This morning we went to Westport beach and had a long walk along the sand towards Machrihanish. Maeve the Deerhound was off her lead so she could wander about and sniff here and there. No sign of paddling yet. We met a few people and Maeve met a few dogs.

We went to Glenbarr for a slightly early lunch then we bought a few cheerful bedding plants and a large bag of compost in the garden centre. Back home we cleared out some containers that the former owners of our house had badly neglected. We put in new compost and planted them up. We also potted up a patio rose that Apothecary7 had been given before we left Carnoustie. At least that feels like we have made a start to the gardening. I will have to tackle the grass soon !
