checking out the penguin chicks...

and the Flying Scotsman in the morning. Max and I were a wee bit late (30 min to wait) and all the good spots were gone. Ended up with a tree in the way (see extra). Still quite fun to see the train and another chance to see it tomorrow.

In the afternoon we went to the zoo to check out the penguin chicks which we so far missed every year. The zoo was particularly good with lots going on and many little ones. We all particularly liked the red river hog piglets (the other extra). They must have been very new. Also loved seeing the pelicans up close. More pics from the zoo on flickr.
