Majestic Mercedes

Gumball 3000 was again in town this year. After their 2014 escapades I thought I'd hit the town and see if I could get some nice images of the incoming cars. 
How disappointed was I? - in a word. Very.

The plan I'd heard was that the cars would stop on the outskirts of town, regroup and be escorted into town by the Police. However, the drivers took it upon themselves to ignore this and head straight in, following their Sat Nav. 
Now if they'd come in convoy they'd have gone along Princes Street and all would be rosey, but they all took directions from their Sat Nav and avoided Princes Street and came up Leith Street. Missing a huge amount of the crowds out to see them. 
Given they also came in at stupid o-clock on the night, late and probably tired themselves they didn't do any victory lap of edinburgh. Just parked on Regent Road. Turned their car off and scarpered into the Balmoral to start the party.

The one car I waited for - the Batmobile also didn't appear by the time I was cold, tired and the light failing. I went home. 

Again, the crowd control both by Gumball and the Police was a joke. I hope it doesn't return for another disappointing show.
