Ruby-throated Hummingbird

Hummingbirds have returned to the Chicagoland area. In mid-May there are few flowers from which hummers can feed on nectar, and I hung a feeder so they have a dietary supplement until more flowers are blooming. This afternoon I saw hummingbirds return to the feeder four times, and this hummer used the perch staying 30 seconds or more. The feeder contains 1 part sugar and 4 parts water, no food coloring.

Consider this a preview of things to come, as will get better/lower ISO photos in the near future when there is sunlight.
