Hard work, long hours

Since yesterday I have noticed, or rather heard, tractors and trailers driving past our gate almost continuously from early in the morning until well after dark. They are cutting the hay, making the most of the fine weather which has arrived at last, and every trailer load has to be taken back to the storage barns. Backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards they go.
And these are the farmers who are also providing milk from their herds of Fresians, very much in the news just now!
They work very hard all year round, and we need them to stay on the farms.
Why should people begrudge paying a few more pence for the goodness of milk ? Perhaps we could buy fewer packets of crisps! Milk provides good nutritional food for us, and let's hope that it will also provide a proper livelihood for the farmers!
