Paragliding

"Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing comprising a large number of interconnected baffled cells. Wing shape is maintained by the suspension lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing, and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing over the outside.

Despite not using an engine, paragliders flight can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometers, though flights of one to two hours and covering some tens of kilometers are more the norm. By skillful exploitation of sources of lift, the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand meters." - from wikipedia

We live in an excellent paragliding zone as we see them here daily. Today I only saw few, but during the weekend there might be dozens. This is taken from our balcony.

Nelson is having bad luck with his paws. Ever since we noticed that he had hurt his paw, we've been keeping an eye on it. This afternoon it finally came visible to us that he had a wound in it. On top of the paw. I thought that he's stepped into broken glass or something and it had infected a little. I took him to the near by vet's immediately. The vet had time to look at his paw right away. He cleaned it and removed very very small glass bits and a very very small stick of hard grass from underneath the paw. Nelson also got a shot of antibiotics. Now he has cool green roll bandage on it. Tomorrow I have to clean the paw and if it looks okay we'll visit the vet on Thursday and he'll get his second shot of antibiotics. If it looks worse we'll visit the vet tomorrow and he'll see how to proceed. We're hoping that there's no glass inside the paw anymore. There was a small hole visible. If it starts to swell he'll have to open it surgically and see what's going on.
