I do not work for Scotrail.

I just wanted to clear that up.

Up till now I've been getting the train to Edinburgh Park, half empty trains running every ten minutes and the fare only ten pence more than the bus with a journey of a quarter the time.

However South Gyle tickets are ten pence LESS than the bus and the journey time no longer. So what is the catch? Trains are every half hour. There are half the carriages, twice as many people and the station has nowhere to get out of the rain. Plus the walk to the station from work end is twice the distance.

Gonna have to think about this one.
