André Chénier

Exciting day today travelling over to Breganz in Austria for a performance of 'André Chénier' tomorrow night as part of the Breganz Festival and their 'Opera on the Lake' series. Here to celebrate mine and MrsB's anniversary, but also for me to check out the mega-scale of mechanical automata used in the stage design for some future project research.

Cheapest way was an Easyjet to Munich and car hire for the 220km drive to Austria. Hardest parts of the day was the arrival in Germany (actually finding the hire car in the multi storey) and the end (coming off the Autobahn and Toll Road into the sleepy Breganz streets to find a hotel without a map).

Inexpensive little hotel with lovely rooms, and 15 minutes walk to the festival site. We had a walk into town tonight to test things out and had a great little meal by Lake Constance.
