Wet Walk in Glen Esk

This sheep had the right idea sheltering under the trees!  I met friend L. in Forfar and drove in my car to Tarfside in Glen Esk to do our planned walk in spite of the poor weather forecast.

We had our picnic in the car, which was not quite what we'd had in mind, but it was easier than getting soaked outside.  We had the right gear, so decided to do the walk anyway and it started out with just a bit of Scotch mist (i.e. light drizzle!)  However, the mist closed in and the rain got heavier and heavier, so we changed our minds after a few miles and headed back to the car.

We stopped at The Retreat on the way back, a community run museum, gift and tea room and my jacket made a very large puddle on their nice wooden floor:-)  Think I'll need to re-proof it sooner rather than later!

We both enjoyed the day out, in spite of the dire weather and will go again when it is warm and sunny.
