Grey Heron(Ardea cinerea)

This is how big birds such as this very large Grey Heron keep themselves cool in such extremes of heat, they flutter their neck muscles, apparently this helps them loose heat like a dog panting. The action is called 'Gular fluttering' and this Heron is doing this in my photo-he is also looking down on me and thinking what is she doing. Apparently birds are also much more efficient about water and water loss. Also did you know that a birds body temperature is also much higher than a humans, so it is doubly important for them to cool off. There we are some useless information for a very hot Friday! Have a great weekend fellow Blippers!
