Pantone 300

In 2003 the Scottish Parliament's Education, Culture & Sport committee set the optimum shade of azure blue for the flag [saltire] as Pantone 300. Before this there was no official colour for the Scottish flag.
The committee's decision is only advisory and has no statutory force (so if you have a flag of a different shade, you're OK!)
[The flag is said to date to the Battle of Athelstaneford in East Lothian in 832 when Pictish and Scottish warriors defeated a far larger force of conquerors from the south, on a day when the white clouds formed a cross in the azure sky]

Today is my 300th day on blipfoto.
What a wonderfully encouraging and inclusive community it is.
