Reality Check!

After two days of perfect weather and great sea conditions, we struck a falling tide against a strong wind, all 25 - 30 knots of it! It was hard paddling, particularly around Waiharakeke Point, seen here in this image. Standing waves and gusting winds, with spray whipping off the top of the waves, was quite a challenge! Two of us left our kayaks at the next point, and walked up and over the next headland, with our kayaks being retrieved when the conditions improved. What an epic! One to remember and to dine out on.

Day 4 of paddling the Abel Tasman National Park - back blipping.
