A day trip

21C. Warm with some cloud cover and a light breeze.

Very much the same weather in St Andrews. So much for the forecast of rain for most of the day which almost put us off our trip to St Andrews. Apothecary7 had her day off today and we thought a little trip would round off her long weekend nicely. We are glad we ignored the forecast and went, it was very pleasant indeed :-)

Maeve the Deerhound came too, and made lots of new friends although she isn't always totally happy when the streets are busy. During our picnic lunch in the Cathedral grounds she had lots of admirers from a group of Italian teenagers who seemed either fascinated or nervous. Maeve was very good with them, allowing much stroking. I thought she did particularly well with two small excitable children in Church Square later, allowing them to stroke her and cuddle her. I was sure one was going to get bumped over by a swing of the head if they overstepped the mark. Thankfully not. The smallest did get poked in the chest with a large Maeve nose but she was all giggles at that. They had great fun and it is good for Maeve to meet more people as most of her walks with me are in quiet places.

The blip of the boat "Enchanter" was captured in the morning during a wander round the harbour. I thought it looked as if it needed some enchantments worked in its favour. It looked rather sad and neglected sitting in the sandy mud at low tide.
