Taming the Wilderness Part 1

The garden has been neglected this spring, in favour of weekends away and other distractions. The grass is almost on the verge of turning to hay (it not having been cut this year at all) and the weeds in the vegetable plot were in danger of being the only crop this year. Thick and matted though they were, a determined weeding soon had them cleared.
