Charity walk

Some of the walking group at the endpoint, the red bull statue at Otterspool. The event started with grey skies and heavy rain, which continued until the first rest stop. After that the skies cleared, the sun came out, and it was possible to see across the river as far as the Welsh hills. At the second rest stop we could all sit outside, where the organiser, Emma, and the legendary Stella (with me in extras) celebrated with their
"We're at the pub" dance. Taking 5 hours to cover 5 miles doesn't sound like your usual pain and perspiration charity run, but it was a big deal for many of the participants, and a lot of rests were absolutely necessary. Having said that, everyone enjoyed the afternoon, and the atmosphere was great - fun and banter all the way. Emma reckons it should become an annual event. I was accompanied by #2S (extras) who enjoyed it hugely too. A lovely day with great people.
