Heavy-handed Symbolism

Which, of course, is the best kind of symbolism.

So, this bridge doesn't cross anything. Or join anything to anything else. It has been parked near a path and doesn't really do anything.

So there it is. A ready-made symbol which can be applied to anything you like.

If life were fair, bridges would be put out to pasture or they could spend their last days crossing small but picturesque streams in cool Alpine valleys. I may start a charity.
