Just hangin' out

This weekend we began our PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Yay!
The downside is that the dive location is 1:20 away, and we need to be there by 7:45am both Saturday and Sunday. This is not to be a "sleep-in" kinda weekend.

Saturday we conducted three different dives, learning techniques for greater buoyancy control under water, methods for diving on wrecks, and underwater navigation techniques. We took decent breaks between each dive, which kept things low-key and easy-going, but it also meant setting up and tearing down our equipment three separate times (good practice!) and carrying everything into and out of the water three separate times as well. A bit of a physical exertion that we're not used to.

The dives were great. The upside of diving so far away, is the private lake caters to divers and dive instruction, and they have several points of interest within the lake such as sunken vehicles, aircraft and seacraft. Nothing mind-blowing, but it's fun and novel!

We got back home by 6:30pm, rinsed off all of our gear, and hung it to not-really-dry overnight - here is almost all of the gear sprawled out on our balcony. Once that was done, we crashed since the next morning we get to do it again!
