part of the reason i have been so quiet lately is because i have been busy on this little pick up truck.

i bought a mobility scooter and ripped it all apart (i think i showed you a picture of the bare chassis a while back?) and this is the (almost) finished product. there is only the seat trim and a lick of paint on the spokes of the steering wheel to go, but its all fully working.......

i know its all fully working as i had a good ride in it myself the other day, the next thing i knew every child in the street was gathered around it asking me all kinds of questions about it, which lead me to a funny story.

they asked if they could have a go in it, so i said "go and ask your mothers if its ok, and then i will let you have a go in it" they all came running back insisting that it was ok, and they formed a queue to have a turn. 5 minutes later all the mums came out the houses to watch. however, one of the mums, a girl i used to go to school with a long time ago, told me that her two children came in shouting that "there is a man outside who wants us to get in his car" anyway as soon as she came out to the door she saw it was me and all was ok, but it goes to show how easily rumours can start! i could have ended up on the register!!!!

anyway, the car itself is mainly made from steel, everything you see has been hand made, including the sculptured bumpers and grille, and the curved bonnet. the details you cant see are the thin ribs along the front edge of the bonnet and grille, and the dash board complete with switches and gauges for lights, horn, battery condition, speed sensetivity, and the ignition switch. it really is very solid, you wouldnt want a child to bump it into your own car believe me, or run over your foot with it!
