Where Eagles Dare

We set off on a beautiful morning with the rather ambitious idea of bagging four Wainwrights. The first one shown here is Eagle Crag and was a  'strenuous ascent' according to the guide book. Two words I don't like to see together describing a walk I'm about to do.
However it was beautiful at the top, craggy wild and with lots of vegetation. The next one was Sergeant's  Crag  ( extra )with its interesting cairn at the top where we had lunch. After that the terrain turned a bit featureless and the weather went dull so after High Raise the fourth Wainwright seemed a shade too far and remains unbagged leaving us on  ninety nine!
And I was hoping to break out the fizz to celebrate the hundredth! Never mind, maybe tomorrow.
