The Heron

Took the dogs to Victoria Park this morning ..... a new venue for them and a rarely visited one for me.  I went to see if the cygnets had hatched but the swan was still on the nest.  Plenty of other bird life on the pond as the gulls, ducks and swans fought over the breadcrumbs.  There were two herons around .... the larger one started off sitting in the tree while the younger one had his attention focused on the swan.  Eventually they both arrived at the large pond where elevenses were being served by a lady who comes most days with her bag of bread bits.
