Surface Tension

Raindrops on the fronds of a garden plant, just hangin', the molecules in the drops less attracted to their new surface than to themselves, so each one forms that lovely word, a meniscus. Think octopi tentacles, bright with suckers. Think Invasion of the Body Snatchers (since each one really is a kind of pod). Think funhouse mirrors, and there I am, a hulking silhouette, a self portrait multiplied to the power of water and light.
