The Seven Sisters

Mrs Catspaw has a couple of days off before working both days this weekend, so as it was a hot, bright, breezy sunny day, we took an afternoon 'stroll' along the top of the Seven Sisters, from the car park at Exceat Bridge to Birling Gap and back. In all, the walk there and back (with a pause for an ice cream from a van at Birling Gap!) took us about four and a half hours, and left us feeling happy and weary after the exercise in such a spectacular environment.

The cliffs here are constantly being undermined by the waves and falling into the sea. You can see here some of the patterns on the current chalkface left behind by previous falls, as well as a spectacular wave-cut platform just above beach level at the foot of the cliffs.
