Critical Mass

1st Mass in months + months ; I pretty much grinned all the way around. There were a few different varieties of bicycle trailer soundsystems pounding out party musique to entertain hums of pretty perplexed looking after work street drinkers, mainly in suits. It was quite a small one, maybe around a hundred, but we pedaled slow and close together and formed a tight net of swarming cycles monopolising our own sections of the road as we went. Every time I ride the Critical Mass, I feel shivers down my spine - it is the one and only time in this furiously engine occupied city that we get to go first, and you're surrounded by people that are enjoying the same elation.

Reached the 600 mark today with the kiddies, we celebrated by taking a Weisse Beer out in the barmy Friday night buzz, content with the knowledge that I could draw a line under stage #2 of this huge project and clink bottles in the anticipation of taking Cheeques on a little holiday to the sea.
