Borussia München Flapjack

Have now realised that my knowledge of the geography of Germany is certainly very basic - although we did manage the relatively simple return drive to Munich airport from Bregenz with no getting lost and reasonable time to spare.

This is a shot taken back at München airport, holiday almost over. Just time for a little coffee and a sweet snack before whacking the remaining Euro's in Duty-Free. Never seen an Airstream caravan converted to an airplane before, so will this 'Smokey Joe' ever get off the ground?

My jokey-foodie reference is because I foolishly thought Borussia Mönchengladbach were from Munich and played alternatively with Bayeen Munich at the beautiful Allianz Arena football stadium. Dummkopf, I now realise care of St. Wiki that it is the team called TSV 1860 München.

Just as well then that due to time and my navigational limitations, that we skipped trying to visit either this stadium, or the two team's previous home that was the classic 1972 Olympic Stadium.

This beauty was designed by architect Günther Behnisch with engineer Frei Otto. The sweeping canopies of glass and steel cables of the 'Olympiastadion' are still stunning and cutting-edge to this day. Will London 2012 achieve that same iconic architectural legacy? I very much doubt it, and certainly not with Anish Kapor's ugly-looking and named ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower.

Back home it is then, with some serious blip catching up to do.
