A Saturday Sale

This is a 1959 Edsel. It has 78,000 miles on it, and is for sale for 14 thousand and 500 dollars.

The Edsel Company was a branch of the Ford Motor Company. They were only produced for 3 years, from 1958-1960. Ford figured that they needed to make and sell 240,000 Edsels to break even. They only sold 118,000.

In America, the Edsel has become entrenched as a prime example of a commercial failure.

I kind of like it. I think it's pretty, and if I was independently wealthy...I'd buy it.

Let me know if you're interested. I'll give "Bob" a jingle, and will even haggle about the price.
