Trogir

Today we are booked on a day excursion to Trogir, like the Palace of Diocletian Trogir is a world heritage site. Our hotel is near the Cathedral of St Dominic. Originally it was the Mausoleum of Diocletian, and as such it was no doubt a lot quieter. Today the bells ring out loudly at seemingly random times, the first of these was about 6am this morning.

We were the first to be down for breakfast as we had an early rendezvous with the coach to take us over to Trogir, a journey of about an hour. The instructions as to where to meet the coach were a little vague, and there are several coaches. We enquired with a tour guide, and he phoned our guide, we had already passed the pick up point.

We learned there were four of us on the tour, as the other two never arrived we had the tour to ourselves. We were met in Trogir for what had now become a private tour. We had a guided tour of the island until lunch time when the guide handed us over to a restaurant. Normally I have low expectations of included meals, the quality of this one was very good however. I chose a steak and it was as good or better than I could get in Aberdeen at any price.

We had the afternoon to ourselves to explore the island. Time also to stop in a bar before our transport back to Split. We had dinner at the restaurant we went to the evening of our arrival.
