A MURAL dedicated to a popular aspiring young artist and musician killed in a tragic Halloween stabbing has been completed in Nuneaton.

The high profile artwork in honour of Morgan Hehir, now takes pride of place in the town centre by the Ropewalk Shopping Centre for all to see.

Six artists worked together on the special scheme which celebrates the life

The work, which can be seen in Dugdale Street, was completed the day after what would have been Morgan's 21st birthday.

James Bennett, an art teacher from Nuneaton who has led the project, says the creation of the mural was simply 'magical' with everyone wishing to pay tribute in the best way they know to a 'great bloke'.

"It was a magical day – everybody loved it," said Mr Bennett, who worked with Mr Hehir on previous community art projects.

The artwork took approximately six hours to complete and relatives and friends of the George Eliot Hospital worker say they love the result. As well as featuring an image of Morgan's face, it also includes his name in graffiti style letters and a badge of Nuneaton Town FC, which Morgan proudly supported from the terraces for years.
