Chipping Steam Fair

We had a long drive over the Pennines this morning to visit Chipping Steam Fair, which is just outside Clitheroe.

We had a good day out, but were a little disappointed that a steam fair didn't have more steam!  Most of the things there were petrol powered - military vehicles, tractors, classic cars, and I think all of the motorcyles in the North of England were there later in the afternoon.

Our favourite exhibit is featured in the main blip.  This was a steam traction engine that was connected to a massive circular saw.  They were using it to slice a tree up into fence posts, and they seemed to be at it all day!  (Yes, that man was wearing a fez.  Hats are cool.  Or is that bow ties? ) There's a shot of the blade in the extras, along with a few other detail shots from the day.
