Prairie Starting to Bloom

Illinois prairie flowers are starting to bloom.

On a related note, I saw four monarch butterflies in our subdivision today. I thought that this is too early for monarchs, but due to favorable winds they have reached northern Wisconsin and northern Minnesota in their migration. Milkweed plants which support monarchs are actively growing and milkweed plants are at least 12 inches/30 cm tall in our area.
