The Test

A big day out down at Durham for the second day of the Test - England v Sri Lanka.
Four of us headed down by train, armed with picnics and umbrellas. England were batting and continued through to well after lunch. We were all guiltily wishing they would be out so we could see some Sri Lanka batting. They did get there eventually and made the most of the sunny afternoon.
We were seated in the 'rowdy stand' with the Barmy Army. After a sedate start they warmed up at lunchtime and by afternoon tea cricket had become rather secondary to the day as congas snaked up and down the stand, a beach ball was bounced above the crowd and the inevitable Mexican wave flowed round the whole stadium.
This shot is taken looking across to where we were. It was nice to be able to walk round and nosey in at play from different view points.
