Brass lamb

Several generations ago, the boss man of an iron monger's workshop in Cork, shouted across the floor to one of his employees: "Hey, the priest here says he wants part the brass gate to be a lamb. It'll be seen by everyone in the church. Can we do a lamb in brass?" 
"Yes, sir," would have come the reply.
Today, I photographed the result. I'm glad I did because it helped to appreciate up close the pure art and skill of the man who made this all those years ago.
