East Anglian adventure part one

Wow what a fantastic day! Sara, Leslie and I went for a quick tour of some of the most beautiful churches around Colchester.
My main blip is the  stunning Friends of Holy Innocents church at Lamarsh, it is believed to have been built around 1140, and is Grade 1 listed meaning it is of the highest architectural quality. The 'round tower'  was capped in the late C19 by a beautiful Essex Spire which was repaired in both 1948 and 1974.
My Extras are The Round Church of St John the Baptist  Little Maplestead, also very beautiful  and finally the rather grand St john the baptist church at Pebmarsh, and finally 2 pigeons snuggled up together in a window in the tower of Little Cornard church - so sweet!
Essex is full of beautiful churches, we saw 8 all in a 25 mile radius!!!!
