Another Amazing day !

Wow, what a great day again. An amazing blipmeet with Himself, sleepyhead, Gitama ,(me in middle) , Happyvalley, Porridge and Freespiral. Great to meet you all !
Thanks to Mike for taking the photo and luckily we were not moved away by SECURITY ! I think we could have been arrested for being too Happy and maybe a little bit silly ;)
As we introduced ourselves it felt like we were undercover agents or maybe a modern version of the seven dwarves :) A fun couple of hours chatting and laughing.
I had been a bit worried for suggesting we meet outside Judith Glues in front of St Magnus Cathedral as I had nt realised some of the roads would be closed as preparations were to take place for the event for the Centenary of the Battle of Jutland. However it worked out perfectly. Tea, coffees and cake consumed from the lovely little café and then the sound of bagpipes called us outside. We watched as the bands matched by, listening to the great sound created and watched the 'stand in's ' for royalty and members of the Government  shake hands and move into the Cathedral.
We said our goodbyes and Mike and myself went into the Museum to see the Battle of Jutland exhibition. We had been down to Scapa beach earlier to see the Royal Navy Boats docked at the pier. They had started their rehearsal too and were moving out into the Scapa Flow. A trip further North and we could see the larger ships just off Lyness .
Enough time for lunch at The Sands and a run down to the Sands of Wright and a short walk. A new mammal to add to our seen list was a big rat that ran down to the beach. Such a funny look on it's face when he saw us !
Lots of lorries squeezed onto the Ferry and then a few cars as we sadly left Orkney to return home.
The sun shone brightly for our trip South. Super light and as we reached Helmsdale we saw the skiffs rowing back to the harbour so we stopped and took a few photos.
A good journey home with very little traffic.
