Stonechat

After a bit of a lie-in, we decided to go to Bamburgh this morning, as Louie loves walking on the beach and it's a while since we've been. It was grey when we left Wooler, but in Bamburgh there was a haar - the castle was shrouded in the gloom. We didn't stay too long - still in Summer mode after the weekend we were wearing sandals, and warm boots and socks would have been far more appropriate! Louie wasn't bothered by the cold, and enjoyed chasing his ball. Walking through the dunes on the way back to the car, we spotted this little chap - more common in the west of England at this time of year.

Later in the afternoon the weather improved drastically so, determined to make the most of the Bank Holiday, we drove down to the Ingram Valley and had a picnic by the river. Blue sky and warm sunshine - what a difference a few hours made (see Extras)!
