Commiserations with Clare

Lovely Clare came over with her HUGE plant book to help me decide what to do with the sad saggy snowball (viburnum) shrub at the front of the house.

By this morning it had flopped even further and was blocking the pavement, so we had to decide to kill, cut, or replant.

Taking advise, today I cut it back really hard and will see how it recovers.  It was heartbreaking, all that beautiful blossom spilled.  My Mum chose it for us 12 years ago  (extra photo) when we were too immersed with little kids to be bothered with thinking about garden shrubs, but she loved all that.

She chose well since it's done us proud for 12 years, and at £3.99 it was a pretty OK investment.
