Belvedere

The great thing about the location of our hotel was that it was only a short drive to our dawn location - although a 4:45 leaving time was early enough for me as i'm not a morning person!

Boy, it was worth it though. The sun rose casting slithers of light across Belvedere and Val d'Orcia which was shrouded in mist. An amazing first morning and had to be my blip for the day.

After breakfast, we headed to Lucignano d'Asso and "Charlie's Chapel" - a quaint and beautiful medieval village. A stop off at a poppy field before lunch, which was taken in a lovely restaurant in Buenconvento. Then it was back to the hotel for a break before the evening's shoot. A dip in the hotel pool and relax on the sunbeds was very welcome. This is the life! :-)

Our last shoot of the day was at the Gladiator fields south of Pienza, famous for the scene in the Gladiator film.

A short walk into San Quirico d'Orcia for dinner,  all washed down with a great red Italian wine.  The group were beginning to gel and it was clear it was going to be a fun week!

A fantastic first day - a few extras are included.
