'Tiggy Off The Ground'

Games cows and sheep play when its sunny and warm and very little else to do.  This old Lime Kiln in the Bampton Valley near Haweswater provides an ideal diversion for bored animals. 
Lime kilns date from Roman Times but the above was probably built circa 1800 -1830, around the time that canals such as the Lancaster Kendal Canal was built providing much needed transportation.
