New blue columbine

Another garden discovery today. I have waited years for this one. After trying to grow this particular columbine from seed for several years this is the only one that sprouted last yer from a seed packet I bought specially. This is the state flower of Colorado. I have started other blue columbines and have them i=flourishing at nearly a meter some of the purple ones. But this very short specimen may be that way because the seed were weak.
Anyway, after it goes to seeds I will have more to start for next year... finally.
That label stick is for a Candlerabra primose that did not make it through the winter, alas.
A lot did not survive.... not so much for the cold as for the mixed signals of warm spring and heavy frosts. There are no apple blossoms, thus no apples this year. the viburnums have not flowers and most of the lilacs. But I am enjoy the new inhabitants too.

Note:
The beans have sprouted and the winter squash too.
