Doors in Oslo # 89 National Art Museum

I'm impressed that tourists spent time at the National Art Museum instead of enjoying the hot weather and the fiord today!

The building is from 1881, and design by architect Heinrich Ernst Schirmer from Leipzig. He was one of the most important architect in Norway in the 1800s. Between 1838 and 1883 he drew churches, museums, prisons, schools, hospitals and Norway's first rail station.
Despite his huge impact in Norway, he apparently died poor after a long struggle to get pension.

I have in fact blipped this entrance before, but you would never recognise it :-)

Happy Friday!
