Glass

This evening we went to the private view of the Dibgate 9 , nine artists who are showcasing their art as part of the south east open studios event . I left my camera and phone at home and was disappointed not to be able to blip this great venue. The converted dairy barn home of one of the artists is turned into a large gallery and her studio was once the cow shed. The old farm buildings surround a beautifully planted and landscaped courtyard garden, where wine and canopes were served. Fortunately it was not too cold and did not rain, so people were able to benefit from the outdoor setting.

We met a very talented glass artist, who is also a ceramicist, with the charming name of Myra Wishart. We bought a decorative droplet and a tiny silver leafed dish. Hence my blip tonight.

Hopefully the weather will improve over the weekend. Many artists open up their studios to take part in this event and it's great to talk to them about themselves and their art.
