The invasion of the sunbeds

The sun had yet to rise over the swimming
pool and its margins but the towels were
not only laid out but pegged to the sunbeds.
I had never seen a territorial claim so forcibly
staked out before! There was no national flag
flying. That was unnecessary I assumed.
My disposition to pre-dawn action could easily
have been the means of launching a surprise
attack on their front line but this was supposed
to be a holiday after all and provoking internal
conflict I judged, perhaps wrongly, to be
against the spirit of the EU !
